GAI Precision Workshops Ltd. was founded in 1973 by the Garitaonandia Iturrikastillo family in Zaldibar (Biscay). At the outset, our efforts were directed towards the making of tools and special machinery for the machine tooling companies of the area. Thanks to our enthusiasm and the progress achieved during those early years, we were able to succeed in having customers place their trust in us, allowing the company to consolidate. In view of this, and the pace of development, it was decided to diversify production, thus beginning the manufacturing of interchangeable plate tools for machine tooling by metal shaving. That was in 1975.

From that moment until the present day, the activity of GAI precision workshops has been split into these two manufacturing lines: on the one hand, tools, precision machine tooling and special machinery and on the other hand, interchangeable plate tools.

The high quality and workmanship of our products allowed us to gain the trust of our customers, which facilitated our growth in terms of staff and in production resources. For this reason and wishing to improve the service offered to our customers, GAI Precision Workshops Ltd. moved to new premises in 1997.

Since then we have continued to develop, taking on new production techniques, increasing our technological level, keeping up to date with the latest machinery and supporting the most important element of our company, the staff, so that they can fully realise their enormous potential, thereby allowing us to satisfy the needs of our customers and ensure that GAI Precision Workshops can continue to meet their requirements.

Apart from all this, in GAI Precision Workshops we try not to forget our social responsibilities and we have a focus on improving the economy, culture, social cohesion and respect for the environment in our area.

We are aware of the territorial changes undergone by businesses in recent years: globalisation has become a phenomenon for businesses to keep very much in mind, since it directly or indirectly affects all businesses.

However, in GAI Precision Workshops Ltd. we believe that at this time we must be committed to our area, to this area which has allowed us to get to the position we are in today. Our environmental policies and our industrial risk management are an important part of our objectives in this sense, but besides this, our commitment to the area is reflected in our pricing policy, purchasing and supply, employee recruitment and sponsorship and grants for sportsmen and women and socio-cultural events and publications in our area, in this way attempting to reinvest profits among those who have helped generate them.
